Vision correction and printing of manmade global warming
Sometimes seemingly small things can change the world.
Why is the world's population makes explosive growth began about 7 to 8 centuries? This is what I think.
Johannes Gutenberg is known as the inventor of movable printing press. The spindle printing presses existed in the area of Chinese culture, at least a few centuries earlier. type of furniture is not meant much for languages that use ideographs image instead of alphabets. Gutenberg was a goldsmith, and he knew enough to develop metallurgical casting methods for producing massive high-definition characters. So, suddenly, the Western world had a way to mass production of printed texts. And not a copy of a book takes years to do. The dissemination of printed text, is not limited to the Gutenberg Bible, was explosive.
Another part of the story was the correction of vision.
Lenses were invented probably in eastern Asia for many centuries. The first could have been made of natural crystals of clear quartz. Later, the man of glass lenses (Glass) in the form of grinding and polishing is developed. simple vessels increased for at least two thousand years. Several references say that Europe learned about lenses books translated from Arabic and Indian languages. Around 1300, the glass-making centers of Venice and Florence had been relatively cheap glass, more techniques sanding and polishing. This led to affordable magnifiers and telescopes development practices.
No one knows who first thought of adapting a magnifying glass order generic prescriptions, nor the first to put two lenses in one hand frame. Somewhere around 700 or 800 years ago, someone invented glasses, and the nose to keep them afloat. Around 1784, Ben Franklin tried his vision continued to invent bifocals aging, so it was not necessary to maintain mono focal lens exchange.
Why was the vision correction to shake the earth?
Note that all trades and professions be transferred between generations by the learning system. As practitioners of a certain skill attained the status of "teacher" that took in young people as apprentices to learn that skill, as well as cutting firewood, the water reaches, and the work of many irritating the teacher could be appointed as loss of time. The learned appentice became a journeyman, which actually could be making swords, alchemy solutions, medicines, paints, etc. attributed to the master or "School teacher's XYZ."
This process of becoming a teacher took many years, and it competed with the effects of aging. Feel sorry for the hunter approaching middle age who lost his vision at a distance, the blacksmith of jewelry or silver and could not focus up close, and so on. With glasses, the professional years were long, even people who previously had been unable to see well at all.
Cheap flights and glasses print allowed the explosion of knowledge, which led to the Industrial Revolution.
Unintended consequences include population explosion, the explosion the use of energy, the exponential growth of pollution, therefore global warming.
It's too late to invent unaided eye and printing. You better learn to control the world population with humanity, or the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Famine, plague, war and death) will travel to Earth.
