winner of the makeover shows new image in Women Expo
The winner of a makeover contest sponsored by The Gazette, Bryant showed its new image for a fashion show of Women Expo Gaston Gazette on Saturday. She wore a red sweater and a skirt of the road collection of Ruby, a new pair of href = "http://www.firmoo.com/rimless-glasses.html"> frame glasses and a new hairstyle lively.
"I feel like a whole new person," Bryant said. "I feel better about myself. I feel more confident."
A wife, mother and grandmother of Clover, South Carolina, Bryant received more than 1,600 votes in an online contest for the makeover. Her husband, Eddie Bryant, had written an essay to nominate.
After Bryant was presented during fashion show, her husband gave her a bouquet of pink roses. She wrapped him in a hug as the crowd applauded wildly.
"He made me mourn - I did not expect at all, "Bryant said." I know he loves me. He is wonderful. "
Bryant was suffering from low self-esteem after losing his job. She returned to school and studying to become a teacher.

Hundreds of women and girls attended the inauguration of the Women's Expo at The Loft @ 245 West, which included free health screenings, demonstrations and speeches and 50 vendor booths offering jewelry, cosmetics, crafts and product information and local services.
"I think that participation has exceeded any expectations I had," said Dr. Ann Hoscheit, an optometrist with the summit Eye Associates. "There is an energy, there is a buzz in the air. Women are the head up and just having fun connecting with other people."
Hoscheit spoke during a panel discussion, "Successful women share their secrets, moderated by Gastonia Mayor Jennie Stultz. For his part, Mayor said he hoped the exhibition becomes an annual event.
"The amazing thing about this is in its first year, you may already have been overcome," Stultz said. "I am very happy and very inspired by all women who have served today from all walks of life."
The inaugural Women's Expo was presented by The Gaston Gazette, and columnists Misty Jacobs, Vicki Shepard, Neil Melton Mary and Bill were on hand to greet the loyal readers and share your knowledge. Organizers were overwhelmed by the attendance and participation.
"I'm excited, overwhelmed," said Sherry Collins, editor of promotions. "I that participation is great. It's just a great day for The Gazette and for women in Gaston County."
People began queuing outside the Loft before 8 am, and over 150 are expected when exposure began, Collins said.
CaroMont Health, sponsor of the expo, helped women manage their health with a variety of free screenings.
Vendors and Doris Myers, who sells handmade bags with markers, pins and other trades, said the exhibition helped to introduce their products to new customers. The original owner of the Creative by Doris said she started her small business after being fired from his job of 25 years.
"I sold a bunch of favorites and portfolios, and I enjoyed a lot," Myers said. "It really wonderful with a share for the first time. Everyone has been very friendly, and really, is a well made, well-planned event. "
