Using templates with ceramic paint or underglaze dotted provides stunning visual effects and artistic. Although the templates are nothing more than silhouettes, by placing strategically and the addition of shading to give the impression of depth or motion to the ceramic surfaces. Both negative (Bottom of the template) and positive (solid reduction in the workforce) can be used to create images. The negative stencil reveals the original color clay, while the positive template masks the color of the original clay. Templates must be a strong flexible, non-porous and easily washable. Some Examples of template materials are sheets of acetate, vinyl cloth, masking paper, contact paper, Naugahyde, flat found items such as leaves, and business templates, such as those used in the manufacture of cake. Using the template material transparent or translucent, such as acetate, you can see through a positive stencil to make it easier to position the piece of acetate is also durable and reusable. By creating your own template designs is a good idea to keep the simple forms, and that includes fine details can make more on the difficulties. You can make copies of your design with a photocopier (Which can also be used to extend or reduce the size of your design.) To make the template, put the selected image on a glass plate, place the sheet acetate on it, and cut the shape with a knife. Cut along the lines of your drawing with care to preserve both the positive and negative parts of the template.
Colors can be applied with an airbrush or spray liquid enamels. Do not forget to wear a mask when spraying. Rubber bands or strings can be used to hold the template instead of round parts, and the weights (or double-stick tape) can be used to keep the template from blowing away in flat pieces. The sprayer must be held between eight and fourteen inches of the tile. Shading, three-dimensional effects can be obtained by changing the color depth that you spray - darker at the template edge and the slightest movement out of it - by varying the distance or number of passes made with spray or airbrush. The illusion Depth is achieved by overlapping stencils and shadows in a particular sequence. Sprinkle the template, then moves a bit and varying density foam, you can create an illusion of movement or three dimensions. Using a combination of the stencil negative with the positive side can also be create the illusion of dimensionality.
One of the most difficult aspects of using templates is given that the template used for the first time is what appears to be in front - the closest to the viewer. This is the first template prevents the underlying clay ceramic colors, so it is blank. Around will be colored, and therefore appears to be low in the final image.
Stencils open up a wonderful world of creativity using ceramic paint and liquid glazes. Spray-shading allows for infinite variations in ceramic colors and density, to create striking three-dimensional and kinetic effects.
