The History of Soap Making

I meet people all the time to ask questions about the bleach in our handmade soaps. Some come with a new understanding of soap making, others just turn up your nose. :-)

Bleach is essential for art to make soap. It has been used for literally thousands of years to make various kinds of soap across all continents. handmade soap has its origins in ancient history.

Although it is believed by many that the story actually began around 2800 a. soap C. in Babylon (where the historians found a barrel that contains a substance similar to soap), undeniable proof of the existence of soap are provided for the first time by a Mesopotamian clay tablet dating back to 2200 a. C., with a real soap recipe inscribed on it. The ancient technique of making potash soap describes the mixture and oil to form a cleaning product.

It is almost certain that the Egyptians would also make some kind of soap or detergent. Egyptian manuscripts describe a substance created by combining animal fat and vegetable oils to create a soap-like basis. Documents about 1500 BC will explain another type of soap that is used in the production of wool.

Around 200 AD the ancient Greeks are said to have used a mixture of ashes to clean up their statues and pots. The Gauls and Romans also made animal soap fat, ash, oak and goat's milk. Goat's milk appears to have been his favorite, and I can understand why! They made hard and soft soap products.

Today, the soap is from vegetable or animal fats and alkali. In the past, however, people made their own soap from animal fat and wood ash. Regardless of who first created the drink, which was undoubtedly used in Rome. This is an established fact in the shop of a manufacturer of soap was discovered in the ruins of Pompeii after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The Romans often used as a cosmetic soap. It was very popular among the ladies, because she used to dye his hair red. Plant extracts were probably used for the purchase of this color.

By 600 AD, making soap formed guilds and the modern formula for the soap that we use today was created.

The Hebrews used a base of salt when creating your cleaner. This salt, used in a similar way by many ancient cultures, can be easily found in the lakes. They used to create the alkali salt called for in recipes.

In the eighth century, is recorded that there were soap factories in Italy and Spain. It was not until the twelfth or thirteenth century this industry was welcomed by France. France was then in the tradition to England. The French made their soaps almost exclusively with olive oil, while the English ventured into different types of soap.

The Industrial Revolution forever changed the commercial production of soap. People stopped to make at home and began buying from a catalog or store. While the poor are still making their own soap from wood ashes and animal fats.

Today, the bleach is a product from the list of "success" because it is used in the production methanphetamine. You can not buy in the store as we did 30 years ago. Must be ordered or purchased from a vendor with a lot of paperwork go along with it! But it is still possible to make your own cheap and all-natural soap at home. You can do it from scratch with lye and soy, coconut or olive oil, or you can order a base Rebatching a reputable supplier.

Anyway, glyercin natural soaps are the way to go! Soaps more detergent commercial moisturizer these days. Vegan or at least, all natural, ingredients are the best. Make your own soap or buy soap of those responsible like me - and be kind to your skin!
