Our deployed troop members lack many necessities and can use difficult to obtain items "bargaining chip" to get what they need. It important to know what our troops need or not need, either to send gifts to troops in a basket or gift box and how to prepare and send packets.
Members of our troops get more than the usual number of gift packages during the holidays, but should take into account throughout the year. There are many items they need, both for personal use and "currency," Most people are not aware of the fact that our deployed men and women can use many items for trade only as needed.
The most powerful searched 'currency' is and Chew Copenhagen Snuff in a tin. Shipping ten cans of this difficult to obtain the point is highly recommended. A large percentage of snuff "fall" of the infantry and in particular 'Hagen' is coveted. The receiving snuff comes in a plastic container and members tastes terrible report, many of the troops. Sending snuff cans is not intended to encourage unhealthy habit, but to use for trading purposes.
Other important issues for both personal use and negotiation are: phone cards prepaid plastic bags zipper-style freezer in various sizes, eye wash and eye drops to wash sand, dust and other particles from the eyes, Cell AA batteries, disposable razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, chewing gum, Avon Skin So Soft Original Bath Oil Spray to remove paint face and possible mosquito repellent, energy powdered electrolyte replacement drinks, Atomic fireball or Jolly Rancher candy, seasoning salt, shelled peanuts, Shelled sunflower seeds, Tabasco or Red Devil Cayenne Pepper Trappey, beef jerky or Slim Jims-foot, energy bars and diapers Baby packages, not in bathtubs for bathing in the field.
DO NOT send items include: anything that melts, like chocolate, except M & M'S, waterless hand cleaner or disinfectants (make mud - just send baby wipes in packets instead), flashlight (can not be used for restrictions on the "visible light" discipline), compass (already have), sunscreen (which has a lot), liquor or pornography.
Sending items must be made carefully. As the experts in the gift basket I've come to know that a gift basket is a great idea, but a basket is not always be useful for our men and women either. You have to think carefully about what they really need. The items listed above can be organized and hierarchical in a box to simulate an agreement of the gift basket.
You need a sturdy box, pack items carefully, seal it with tape, please weight into account in selecting items and make sure you have the correct address. The Department of Defense "...... urges the general public do not send unsolicited mail, care packages or donations to service members forward deployed "unless you are a family member, loved one or friend personnel. "Donating money to a charity event that can best do without the important elements, is recommended instead.
Our "Display advanced "members of the troop can use the gifts of hard-to-get personal needs and 'currency' at any time of year. And know pros and cons will save a lot of packages and the pain returned.
