This article sets out the basic differences between three video editing suites for the user popular amateur video. The article is not responding to the question of which of the three is best and why, because they are very different and all products are suitable in their own right. Amateur video user is probably a digital video (DV) to capture images of family holidays, celebrations and special events and the needs of video editing software to edit and sort clips in a "story" continues and enjoyable.
Therefore, usability is an important factor along with editing tools, transitions between the clips and the final production of a video that can be easily copied to a DVD or uploaded to YouTube or other social media sites.
1) Windows Live Movie Maker (free)

Available from Adobe directly or through resellers such as Amazon and Play.com, Adobe Premier Elements is the younger brother of Adobe Premiere Pro, which is chosen by professional video editors (including Hollywood!) And costs almost 10 times the price of Elements.
Premiere Elements 9 happily import video clips and images in almost all possible formats, including ASF, AVI, AVCHD, SWF, DV, DVD, H.264, HDV, MOD and TOD (JVC Everio, import only), MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MP3, WAV, QuickTime, Windows Media, and WMA. Adobe Elements Organizer is used to organize all video clips, images and audio files and other resources.
As with the two suites of software described above, the resources going to do the video is imported into the 'timeline' where they can be edited and manipulated to a large degree. Handy pop-ups help you perform complex tasks without any prior knowledge.
There are a series of six audio effects for cleaning the soundtrack. This is useful for removing background noise such as hissing, roaring of traffic, aircraft and the wind blows DV camera's microphone.
For a user starting out in video editing Windows Movie Maker is a very good place to start and maybe go to any health care programs such as confidence and ability to grow.
