The province of Zhejiang , is located on the shore of East Sea. It has a total area of over 100,000 square kilometers (38,600 miles square) and a population of 46 million dollars. Zhejiang is home to many ethnic minority groups such as Han, Hui, Manchu and Miao. Zhejiang is the province with the most islands in China, with more than 200 islands along its coast.
1. Hangzhou
Hangzhou is the capital of the province Zhejiang and its political, economic and cultural. With its famous natural beauty and heritage cultural, Hangzhou is one of China's most important tourist places. The city, the south end of Grand Canal, is located in the lower reaches of the Qiantang River in southeast China, a top position in the Yangtze Delta and only 180 kilometers from Shanghai. Hangzhou has a subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. However, it is neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter, making it on a year-round destination.
2. Ningbo
Located in eastern Zhejiang, Ningbo is situated in the middle of the coast of China, south of Delta Yangtze. Covering an area of 9.365 km square (3,616 square miles), of which 1,033 square kilometers (399 square miles) is the center of the city busy. Ningbo is one of the oldest cities in China, and has witnessed the rise and fall of many dynasties. It also represents the birthplace of Hemudu Culture, which in turn has a history of over 7000 years. These early civilizations lived and thrived in the area and have contributed greatly to making the Ningbo it is today, an economically developed, modern city with a profound cultural base.
3. Wenzhou
Wenzhou is located on the southeast coast of the province Zhejiang and its economic and cultural center. For centuries, the people of Wenzhou are based on shipping, trade and fishing for their livelihood. Its location on the sea has also been crucial for international operations. Wenzhou footwear and electrical appliances are popular both at home and abroad. Wenzhou citizens are progressive and open to Western ideas. Millions of traders have migrated and began to companies around the world. The city is therefore a famous hometown of overseas Chinese.
4. Yiwu
Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the city of Yiwu in central Zhejiang Province, covering an area of 1,105 square kilometers (about of 426 square miles). In the year 222 BC, Emperor Ying Zheng of Qin Dynasty (221BC-206 BC) established a county here. At present, there is a county-level government of Zhejiang province, which governs eight villages and five subdistricts. Compared with another great quote from China, Yiwu is small but has the largest commodity market in China. This, coupled with mild weather Yiwu has become a highlight of tourism in recent years.
5. Shaoxing
Lying south of the Yangtze Delta and the northern central province of Zhejiang is, Shaoxing, light like a pearl of simple but elegant, is on the line between Hangzhou and Ningbo. With an area of 8,256 km ² (3187.7 square miles), Shaoxing has a population of 4,340,000. The city itself is 339 square kilometers (131 square miles) with a population of 640,000. Two provinces, three county-level cities and a district comprising the entire prefecture of Shaoxing.
