Black Men and Relationships: Are any platonic friendships?
The relationship between man and woman are generally classified in terms of sex or based on physical attributes. What is so often lost the dynamics of a relationship of true friendship between a man and a woman.
The relations between men Black and Black women are so often categorized by Black social stereotypes with men and women crossing violent and Black as arrogant and demanding and cold. Both descriptions are far from the truth that lies at the heart of multifaceted Black Black men and women who historically have hidden their emotions under attack always present and discriminatory social tensions put on them.
Black for men, in particular, these attacks have caused extensive damage to their growth and development than men, husbands and fathers, and equally important, as friends. There is a crisis concerning Black men and relationships that must be addressed.
According Center for Disease Control, cardiovascular disease is generally more common among Black men - about 41 percent - compared with 34 percent in Caucasian men. In addition, similar studies show that CDC Black Black men and women are twice as likely as whites to have a stroke and Black men are 60 percent more likely to die of a stroke.
These statistics are matched with the high rate of unemployment that affect men and relations, especially Black and discontent that adds to your stress and affects their social interactions. With the rising divorce rate and the growing number of challenges Black men, who are not "play dead parents, face-to-obtain custody or visitation with their children, is a wonder that Black men and relationships are at risk. Is it any wonder that Black men can have any kind of productive and positive relationships, especially with women.
However, Black men and relations are not a lost cause. Black men can have sex with Black women that do not involve court battles, fights or problems of global custody control. It's called friendship and, sometimes, is this relationship that leads them through all the dramas and traumas in their lives and provides haven to reduce the stress of life.
I was taught that if you have at least one good friend, then you are blessed. I can say I've been very blessed in my life, but a good friend which is the right to my left, he was my big brother, my sounding board and one of my main party and support systems and, equally important, I was his. So I know that there is a positive link with Black men and relationships and a Black woman can have a true friendship relationship with a Black man because that is what I had with my big brother and best friend anyone could have, Mark R. Griffith.
Unfortunately, life was suddenly Marcos interrupted in December 2008 of a heart attack due to a stress condition based on hypertension. However, filled the lives of those of us around forty and eight years she was here.
My mother, Emma Waters Mereday, was another son and part of our family. He believed in people and lived life to the fullest. As an award-winning television journalist, not only helped bring the message to the community, inspired many of the messengers to see and read about today. We laughed, cry and could only sit and shoot the breeze. He always speaks in the royal "that" if we have been hanging eating alien, and handle events at conferences journalism, was always "let's do this" or "we need to address that" we have supported and each other when the chips were down.
Not I have no idea was too wild for Mark and he was ready, saying: "When will we start!" Ironically, the last "big idea" "we" had been engaged to initiate a project to address health issues affecting blacks in the media. M and M was always Productions. Now, I appreciate your friendship and memory and I encourage Black men to the first, taking care of their health and, secondly, take care of all your relationships. Black men and relationships should start with friends more than anything!
