History
In 1986, Frank Judee mestizo an African Serval with a domestic cat the first to Savannah. In 1989 Patrick Kelly bought one of the kittens and started francs to pursue other cat breeders in an attempt to develop this new breed. Finally Kelly Joyce Sroufe convinced to join him in founding the Savannah breed of cats and in 1996, who wrote the original version of the breed standard.
The first generations of Savannah cats weighed 10 to 25 pounds, while some breeders Sheets report weighing 30 pounds. more recent generations are generally between 8 to 17 pounds. It is relatively common in the early generations of these cats to sing and whistling, like their wild parents, and meow like their domestic mother. The wildcat whistle sounds like a snake hissing very strong. However, you do not hear the song and the wildcat whistle so often in recent generations.
Some breeders recommend a diet that includes raw power of 32% protein no grains or byproducts. Otherwise, care and cleaning of Savannah cats should be kept as with any domestic cat, good nutrition, regular play and visits veterinarians.
