As much as I would like to pretend otherwise, what you wear is defined in the eyes of others. The first impression people have about you is superficial in nature, but that does not mean that the clothes can not have a deeper meaning. Clothing and accessories that have a "cool factor" are not only designer labels, and if was so easy then Dubai and Las Vegas is full of "cool people" ... is not the case. The key to cool it comes to finding unique pieces that reflect who you are, remember a time in your life, and make you look sexy ... all at the same time.
1. Sunglasses - Nothing like a couple of shadows murderer. The mystery factor is only worth spend some money on big sunglasses. I'd rather rare vintage specs. I'm talking about Dior, around 1983. I'm talking Alain Mikli. I'm talking about Cazal. But if that is too complicated to just find a way to get a pair of glasses AM. Just do not wear them at night.
2. Vintage Army Jacket - Must be in a foreign country like Canada or Belgium. Must be time. "I have this for 10 francs or euros oops ... when I was in Paris for years."
3. Rare shoes - I am a die-hard sneaker collector. No guest room in my house because my sneaker collection will not sleep in peace. Any fan Shoe knows you have to earn his kicks. You may have to search the Web or travel to another country, but finding a great pair of wheels that no one has seen before, will keep fresh throughout the day.
4. Vintage Watch - Who Wants to be a pretentious tool wearing a fancy watch (I sold mine and bought 40 pairs of Nike sneakers rare). Like shoes, the key to a great watch is its uniqueness. Panerai screw. Go on eBay and check out old diving watches for the middle of Century 20 or samples of vintage late 80's early 90's. And no matter if it works, if it looks good. Use your cell phone to tell time damn.
5. A Brazilian "Scapular" Necklace - Let's say your ex gave you while you were in Brazil. You are not allowed to take off until the rope is worn and falls on his neck. So mysterious.
6. Ironically Socks - Socks Yes my friend fine pen. Mismatch, preferably expensive argyle socks or stockings of children. Most people will not see them. But that's the idea. When they do, they will think you're so good that I do not care how you look. "Oh, yes I grabbed two cashmere socks drawer, or even realize they do not match because I have so many. "That's cool.
7. Nameplates - You're the guy gave you. You do not want to talk about it.
8. Hermes Scarf - Wear it in winter to keep warm. Summer wear over a t-shirt. You'll look like a fool. A very important silly rich.
9. A black cashmere sweater - Simple. Elegant. Position.
10. A great pair of jeans - is cliché a reason, nothing beats a good pair of jeans. I do not care if you have to save all year round. No Jeans, not cool. Preferably Japanese Denim design or brand local. I prefer darker colors, blue and black. Enough of this wry sense of bright colors. We get it ... who were alive in the eighties. Now go to find a pair of real pants.
