One of the most frequent questions we receive here at OriginalDustCover.com is how to remove light scratches from LCD flat screen televisions and safely without the scratches worse. Scratches can be some of the most innocuous, everyday items such as a piece of heavy paper or a magazine, a toy Nerf, or Nail kitten cats and children. Any of these items may inadvertently touching the flat screen, leaving a scratch may be visible if the television on or off.
The secret to remove light scratches your flat screen TV is to use the right tools. Here is the list of tools to collect:
1) Isopropyl Alcohol -. Available in grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware stores
2.) Micro Fiber Cleaning Cloth - Available in stores for glasses Sun, Wal-Mart, Target
3) Distilled -. Available at supermarkets, Wal-Mart, pharmacies
Never, never use Windex, glass cleaner, or other window cleaning solutions in the flat screen TV. Also, never use paper towels on your flat screen TV, since it is the quickest way to damage beyond repair the screen with thousands of tiny scratches.
First, mix a solution of 50/50 (half of isopropyl alcohol and water through distilled) in a liquid-tight container. Isopropyl alcohol usually appears about 90% pure, so mix a 50/50 solution results in a solution cleaning is almost perfect for our needs.
Second, dip your microfiber cloth in the solution and start to gently rub the scratch on your TV in a circular motion. It is important not to rub too hard, as the friction of the microfiber cloth can do worse that zero. Continue to use a circular motion while maintaining microfiber cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol and distilled water solution.
Finally, the scratch should begin to disappear as isopropyl alcohol in the cleaning solution evaporates. If zero does not begin to disappear or become worse - STOP!
